This devotional shines a spotlight on God’s love for His children and provides insights for those who want to walk closer to Him.
In “Riding the Glory Wave,” the author shares she that she has always admired surfers because she can imagine the incredible exhilaration of riding a wave. “God's glory-waves are like the biggest waves ever surfed,” she writes. “They rush in like a tide, bigger than anything you can imagine and if you ride the wave of His glory, then you can rise to that pinnacle of breathlessness at the top of the wave with faith as your surfboard.”
In “Critical Invasion,” she observes that the critical spirit is an evil force that has been loosed upon our world with the advent of technology. “It is now crazy easy for people to jump on failures and blow them up to immense means,” she writes. “In Matthew, Jesus instructs the people who follow Him to be different. He instructs us to look for good!”
Other entries focus on sensing God, discovering beauty, how love banishes fear, grand hopes, walking in light, and much more.

1.  CARELESSLY LAZY!
The truth is that technology has made us very carelessly lazy. Where once we used to hand write letters with meticulous care having to rewrite over and over until it was perfect; now we talk to a phone that creates the text for us and we just must review it, some people do not even do that. Jesus is coming again and many of us have gotten so lazy, so lethargic, so unwilling to do the things that must be done to prepare the harvest, to keep the lamps lit, to gather the seed. Signs of the times are everywhere and there is a feeling of end times in the air. It is as if the earth herself is waiting in anticipation and groaning with extreme need for the resolution. Jesus tells a story of a burglar coming in the middle of the night when the owner of the house did not lock up, was careless in the way that he approached his life. The burglar came and took everything that he loved and had. Jesus compares himself to the burglar. Jesus states that he will be coming as a thief in the night, to tell us that we do not know the hour nor the time and we need to be prepared for his soon return. We need to keep our eyes on what is happening and keep our houses in order. We need to keep the doors locked against that evil that is trying to beset our Houses. Never has evil been so intent at stealing our Children’s minds, killing our innocent and destroying all that good mean/women have stood for through the tears. The evil principles coming from the spirit world has invaded everything from cartoons to the church house but we continue to allow it under the facade of political correctness. We must raise a banner, take a stand, and plant the flag, declaring that our houses will not be dens if iniquity but houses of prayer. We must stop the siege by standing strong in His strength. Be strong and be vigilant for the adversary, Satan himself, is in the warpath to seek, steal, kill and destroy. We who labor with God know the battle has already been won but we must hold fast our homes so that others may know.
2.  RIDING THE GLORY WAVE!
God’s glory does not depend on us and His movements on Earth and in lives doesn’t depend on us. As people, we are often caught up in ourselves that we will miss this truth. God does not need us in order to be God! God wants us to fellowship with Him and be a part of what He’s doing because He loves us. I always admired or maybe even envied, surfers because I imagine the incredible exhilaration of riding a wave and just being in that pinnacle of awesome and overwhelming power knowing that the same wave you are on in one moment can be the crushing of you if you are not vigilant. God’s glory-waves are like the biggest waves ever surfed. They rush in like a tide, bigger than anything you can imagine and if you ride the wave of His glory, then you can rise to that pinnacle of breathlessness at the top of the wave with faith as your surfboard. If you stay balanced and centered in Faith, you can ride the constant waves of His goodness and mercy. The truth is that we tend to wipe out because we doubt. We do not trust Him to know our desires. We think He’s let us down or He’s taking too long when in reality, we are washed out by the waves crashing around us because we got off our Faithboard. I love this scripture in Ezekiel because he has thrown himself down in awe but The Spirit picked him up, we often throw ourselves down in awe of God while we hold onto our doubt...but the Spirit picks us up and puts us back on the Faith board saying try again. Ride the waves of His glory. Find that He is your center of gravity that grounds you and allow His glory to wash over you taking you to new heights in Him. Blessed be the Glory of God in Me (His sanctuary)!
3.  LOVE LIKE THAT!
Children learn by example. People learn by example. People also learn by association. In this letter to the Ephesians, the instructions are to watch what God does and then do that as proper behavior taught by example to children. In the last few weeks, months, years...I have had some challenges from over 20 necessary surgeries on my body to unexpected storms that cause hail damage and trees crashing...but I view these as ways God has loved me well rather than as setbacks because I know Him and His love. I know Him because I keep company with Him and I observe how He loves and it is cautious but extravagant. He does not love me to get anything from me, but instead He gave His very best and His most cherished son for me. A few weeks ago, His loving voice prompted me to act in a way I would not normally act in a particular situation and that prompting and listening saved me from being carjacked or worse. Just days ago, two trees fell across my path literally feet from my vehicle, where I would have been crushed. A few weeks ago, a delay where I could not locate my keys got me all stirred up but then I realized as I approached a certain area a few minutes late that God had protected me from being crushed under an 18-wheeler. I see what God does. I do not understand cancer or back diseases nor why some He heals here and some only through passing into eternity because I do not know all but I lean into His love in complete trust because no matter what my circumstances have been, He has been faithful. In the eyes of some, my life has been hard and in the eyes of others, easy. Comparisons only encourage or discourage a person as they measure whether their situation appears better or worse. I watch miracles happen daily through brain training at my office as I see lives changing. I completely get that God’s love is like a ring of solid gold. It is tested and pure, unending, and priceless. Most of what God does is love you and long for you to realize that there is no greater love than His-extravagantly, endlessly, selflessly, and perfectly giving everything of Himself to us. Love like that is priceless and enduring. He leads by example because He wants us to love others like that. Learn from Father God; keep company with Him and learn to walk in His ways...then you will love extravagantly too!
4.  SAY THE NAME!
What do you have to do to get someone’s attention? You say their name. We all recognize our name and we respond when our name is called sometimes even in error because names are similar. I grew up with a different last name than I have had for many years now but it is so ingrained in me that I resp
