Sweet Memories
N icole, your willingness to assist in the editing of my second published book, The Food is Ready, Come and Eat, helped shine light on those things I could not see.
I can’t seem to forget a sweet three-year-old in day care where I taught the 5 year olds. Your mom was employed by J. C. Penney department store, the same company you were employed years later. Funny how life works, isn’t it? She would get off some evenings after day-care hours and the doors were locked. Of course, I couldn’t leave you alone in the dark. Holding hands, we walked across the street to my house at the end of our day. A few years later, you were promoted to my classroom. Such a joy; giving no problem at all. Though far advanced in reading, you amazingly had difficulty coloring inside the lines. But you didn’t give up, and you got it, girl! By the way, I still treasure the hardback book you created in presc hool.
Many years later, a beautiful young lady attended college, expecting to do bigger and greater.
