FOREWORD
T hese are true stories of a family’s unique history covering one hundred years; 1913 to 2013.
The God-given gift of Clairvoyance and Divine Interventions may make you agree with the author; “What are The Odds” this could happen? I have tried to place the pictures, poetry, and meditations in appropriate places. You will find thought provoking comments on the authors’ part about clairvoyance and miracles, and an audacious endeavor to define God!
You will discover rare bits of American Indian, national and local history included to keep the stories in perspective. A friend’s true-life experience of horrifying dimensions, plus an edifying story on archeology and the early American Indian life 9,500 years ago is included. You are welcome to use a philosophic musing on the last page as advice for your child or grandchildren. There are disturbing warnings to be absorbed and understood. There are old and new pictures to help bring some of the stories and a little of the history to life.
For the most part, to make what occurred more understandable, it is written in a narrative form. Some names have been changed to protect confidentiality. Since the author was not present in every circumstance, it was necessary to rely on facts as recorded or told by someone who was.
These true stories are written mostly in chronological order. Occasionally I have included another event that adapts to the subject being covered; i.e. Angels or Wartime.
To inspire others to tell your stories of “life’s mysteries” that you feel cannot be classified as coincidence is my hope for this endeavor! You may have experienced God’s interventions in your lifetime to instruct, or as an answer to your prayers. If you have a prayerful communion with Him, it can and does happen. You may have had assistance from an angel more than once and not realized it. There is remarkable evidence that angels walk among us—invisible, guiding and guarding: “For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” Psalm 91:11. An inner voice that says, “Go here, not there.” As protection from evil intent or a mysterious stranger may appear who does an unbelievable act of helpfulness then disappears.
My other desire is to issue a call to adults, to evaluate your own accomplishments and lessons learned thus far in your lives. I would suggest you start a daily journal and jot down anything you happen to recall of past happenings or decisions made (good or bad) that taught you something. From this journal, you may wish to pass on what you have learned to your children and grandchildren. You may discover how good God has been to you and yours!
Most events occurred in or near the Parkersburg and Vienna, WV. Area., except during auto trips and while stationed overseas during WWII 1943-1946.
Many people have developed a healthy skepticism by the time they reach adulthood, and that is a good thing in today’s world. It seems you cannot pick up a newspaper or watch the evening news without being bombarded by stories of ghostly haunting, astrological predictions, magic herbal cures, the latest yeti sightings and other wild claims. However, most adults have the innate faculties to discover the truth, to separate fact from fiction, hone their thinking skills until they realize what is true and what is intentionally misleading.
In short, skepticism leads to knowledge, which leads to clear thinking, which leads to good decisions and to effective actions. An adult, after prayerful study, soon realizes that the Biblical teachings of Jesus and the Prophets leads to a richer, fuller life and most important, a clear conscience. That fact that you will have tried to make the world a better place for present and future generations will be your most valuable legacy.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. In addition, the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
And the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:6-9

PREFACE
I n the past twelve years I have been diagnosed as:
•   Having cancer of the prostate.
•   A precancerous tumor on my pancreas.
•   Advised to get my affairs in order by a cardiol
