Likewise, if we are faced with death, He also went through it, but the good news is, He rose from the dead, meaning that we will all rise from death if we have faith in Him.

What Jesus died for was not for Himself, but for you and me, which bears remembering in a corrupt world where we are constantly tempted to go astray.

In John 11:25 (NIV) Jesus said He was “the resurrection and the life.” We will all die, but what comes next will depend on our faith. Not all will see a second death; there will be the resurrection of the souls. It is wise to commit our lives to Him, because He has power over life and death.
The resurrection is the basis for the church’s witness to the world: Jesus’s bodily resurrection shows us that He is living and that He has authority and power even over death and that He rules over eternity. His blood that flowed on the cross brings a new covenant. Now we can witness to the world that He is alive, which we can say without any hesitation because He spent forty days with us after His resurrection before His ascension.
He is a risen Christ who is living and controls everything and is now intercessor between God and us. We must be happy that He is in intercession for us. We have an assurance that we will rise, and this is coming from the one who Himself defeated death and is alive. Let us follow Him
INTRODUCTION
There could not be any Christianity if there were no resurrection. God planned this long before it happened. What was happening needed a revelation. It would not have been thought of as leading to the resurrection. This was prefigured as far back as Genesis 3:15 where the devil was told that the serpent’s head would be crushed.
The love that God had for humanity at creation persisted to the resurrection and carries on to this day.
But the forces of darkness have not given up; they also are still persisting. They are trying to make earthly things as attractive as they can be so that they are enticing to us.
God’s plans are still being implemented to this day; He is using people He chooses to use to further His will on earth. The resurrection was done in order for us to get salvation, confirming God’s love. That is why at Easter, there is a day called “Good Friday,” which means what happened at Calvary that day is good for us.
There are Scriptures that tell us about the crucifixion and the resurrection, because God knows what is good for us. These Scriptures also tell us about obedience to God. As a result of our obedience to Him, He will love us, and He will make us the way He wants us to be. He makes us know that the resurrection is for our salvation. The Scriptures teach us that by following Him, we are following the true path of life.
Following Him who rose from the dead means we will also rise from the dead. What we have seen happening to Him should be proof enough for us to accept Him as true saviour. For us to qualify to be called His children, we must try to stay away from sin and ask Him to lead us not into temptations, because sin defiles us.
We are following a man whose ways prove that He is worthy to be followed. The good thing about Him is that He imparted some of His powers to us. He selected some men that He travelled with for three years. This was to prepare them to take over at His time of leaving the earth. These men also handed over to us when they were also to leave, so there is a continuity of the work. The reason why He wants His work to continue is because He wants all souls to be brought into the fold. He wants our characters to reflect His character so that whoever is asked to come to the fold will have no doubt but will know that there is eternity.
The fact that He rose from the dead will encourage belief in His story. The Christian religion is named after Him. It is not all smooth sailing; there are some who are opposed to Him, just as such differences led Him to be crucified, and they thought that in that way they had gotten rid of Him. But when the third day came, the grave and death became powerless. That event brought into being the new covenant that makes us the sons and daughters of God for everlasting.
The resurrection reminds us to accept Jesus in our hearts, as He is the Son of God. That means we will be the children of God also. We are advised to give ourselves to God, and whatever He says, we obey, and our relationship will last forever.
His love to us is that even if we try to hide from Him, He will still look for us, to let us also return that love. Jesus came specifically to restore our relationship with God; that is part of the good news that He brought and is part of His mission on earth.
We have been given a second chance and a second choice. This time we should not lose it again, because Jesus is on our side. His love to us never ends.
CHAPTER 1
IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD
Without going round and round, the word is truly God, so there is no more having any doubts in our minds. We are to know that we are talking about God who, because of His love to humanity, became flesh and dwelt among us so that He would be exemplary. By doing that, He gave us something to emulate and also leads us to become models before the world. That is His goal: that we take it from where He left off. Let us take this advice with the spirituality it deserves. Now we know for certain that He was at creation, so we are letting people know that when we are talking of the resurrection, this is how it all came about.
The Resurrection all started with the virgin being told that she was a chosen vessel among women and that she would have a child and would call His name Jesus. He would be born in a manger, but before that, there was a word in the beginning. This word was with God; the word was God. When we hear the story of the resurrection, we have to cast our eyes near and far, in order for us to know that He is the creator of all things. So before we think of anything else, we have to bear in mind that Jesus is supreme to everything. In Him everything holds together. We must not distance ourselves from Him, knowing that He loves what He created.
God formulated a plan, which was to make His Son a sacrifice. That meant that He had to come to earth as a human being; that is why all these were involved. When God made this plan of sending Jesus into the earth, He did not just come as an ordinary man. He was both divine and human, so that way Jesus was unique. However, that should not stop us from striving to be like Him, because He said, “be in me and I will be in you, and we will be one” (see John 17:20–23). He also said He is in the Father, which means it will be a family of the heavenly people made holy by the Father.
Jesus is always dependent on God; that is why He is divine. We can also be divine if we are dependent on Him, who is dependent on God. We are not worth anything if we are not dependent on Jesus; that is why He says, He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6); any who surrender themselves to Him will live.
