• Rene is a trained chef, F&B teacher, international wine and spirits judge, and a vintage rum collector. He loves sharing his knowledge so much that he decided to write about rum. His work was featured in magazines like More Than Drinks, Whisky Passion, Rum Porter, and many more. Rene also self-published a book entitled Journey To Above The Clouds, which documents his study of Zacapa Rum and their Guatemala facilities. He is a recurring guest at various spirits festivals and competitions worldwide, where he gives vintage rum masterclasses or offers select samples from his private collection for tasting (known as Rene’s Rarities).
