Lorsque l’on pense aux sciences, on voit surtout toutes les sciences que l’on peut nommer « dures » ou « exactes », comme la chimie, la physique ou la biologie. Cependant, les sciences sont un ensemble de connaissances caractérisées par un objet ou domaine d’étude spécifique. C’est pour cela qu’il est important de rajouter un autre ensemble de disciplines scientifiques à celles précédemment citées, ce sont les sciences humaines et sociales.


L’humain pour domaine d’étude


Ce qui différencie les sciences humaines et sociales des autres sciences ce sont leurs objets d’études particuliers. En effet, ces disciplines scientifiques vont avoir pour domaines d’études les divers aspects de la diversité humaine. Cet ensemble de sciences permet donc d’étudier les cultures humaines, leurs comportements sociaux, leurs modes de vie, leurs histoires, leurs réalisations, etc. Nous pouvons donc voir que les champs d’études sont très larges.


Autres particularités des sciences sociales et humaines, c’est que l’Homme vivant dans un environnement, elles sont très liées aux sciences de la nature. C’est pour cela qu’il n’est pas rare de voir certaines disciplines présentes à la fois dans les sciences de la nature et dans les sciences humaines et sociales.


Les différentes branches et disciplines humaines et sociales


Étudier les différentes facettes de l’humanité, de leurs cultures ou de leurs liens sociaux a permis la création d’une multitude de disciplines scientifiques humaines et sociales. Cela permet d’étudier plus en profondeur notre espèce et son interaction avec son environnement direct, dans le but d’augmenter son savoir et d’en tirer des enseignements utiles pour le futur.


Nommer toutes les disciplines qui composent les sciences humaines et sociales peut être compliquée, c’est pour cela que vous ne découvrirez ici qu’une partie de ces dernières. Parmi les sciences humaines et sociales les plus connues, il y a donc l’histoire, la géographie, la philosophie, la psychologie, l’anthropologie, l’archéologie, les sciences de la religion (nos documents sur la religion et la théologie sont ici), la sociologie, l’économie, les sciences de l’éducation, etc. Bien sûr, chaque branche ou discipline scientifique est composée de plusieurs autres sous-disciplines.
