“I hope this doesn’t force you to stay up too late tonight,” Mark said, his eyes on the dimly lit highway.
“Believe me,” said Shelly, “I was actually looking for a distraction from my pile of history reports.”
He let out a low chuckle, his husky voice seasoned just like his salt-and-pepper hair. “Same here. I’ve got about a hundred Freshman English essays to grade.”
“So do you think you’ll be able to get Mason into bed after he’s had the house to himself all evening?”
“Oh, yes. The threat of grounding him from his video games works like a charm.”
He glanced at her with a quick shift of his eyes. His dark blue irises appeared almost black in the darkness of the car as he smiled that confident half-grin, revealing the deep dimples Shelly adored. She tried not to let her eyes travel down to his chiseled jaw, freshly shaved for the evening. How all his female students could miss his handsomeness was beyond her. Instead they favored young, boyish pop stars. Little did they know, with age there came experience in all sorts of areas, especially the bedroom.
